| 1238. | MJ | I recently purchased the starter pack from STEAM including EVERY expansion except for the newest Underfoot all for $2.50 - I got everything situated, logged in and as I looked around I felt an emptiness that I've never felt whilst playing a game before and I said to myself.. Jee. This blows. This game was way cooler before all these expansions and I've not logged in much since that day. If a server came out with all the listed features, I would play EQ: Classic everyday and I HIGHLY DOUBT I would stop. Hell, I would probably even buy a lifetime subscription. THAT.. Is how serious I am. I want to play Classic and I want it now. |
| 1237. | DS | EQ was my first MMO and I loved it. I started playing just as Kunark was released, and quit shortly after Luclin was released. I attempted playing again several times through 2003 up to 2009, but could never play very long due to all of the changes that had been made to the game. It just wasn't as fun and exciting to me. Now I admit that several of the changes were nice, but the game just didn't feel like it did pre-Luclin. I would return to EQ and pay the $15 a month if there was a classic server released. I miss it, and would dearly love to play the game once again as it was during 99 - 01. I have played many other MMO's, and none have left its mark on me like EQ did. My wife played with me some when I revisited the game after Luclin, and has expressed to me that she would love to play it again with me on a classic server. So I implore you Sony, release a classic server, and you will make many long time EQ fans very very happy.

It is a trend setter. Let it be a trend setter again, and show the industry that a classic server CAN work. Until then, I hope and wait. |

| 1209. | DB | The classic era of Everquest was a unique moment in gaming. The difficulty of the game led to a close-knit community. Cooperation was more or less required to reach your goals. Actions had real consequences - something that more modern MMOs are lacking. EQ's significant death penalty and the CR process ensured that you felt a real sense of danger in the world. I would completely devote my MMO time to such a server if it was released. |
